Starry Night 2014

Starry Night is a Christmas programme organized by Sneha Care Home during Christmas season. Conceptually it is a Christmas celebration with the stars of Sneha Care Home. The principal aim of this programme is to bring together the well wishers, friends, benefactors and people who are closely associated with Sneha Care Home for a common Christmas celebration with the children and staff of Sneha Care Home. This year it was held on the 15th of December from 6.45 pm.

The Programme

The programme was held at the lawn before pastoral centre. The whole area was decorated with lights and stars, and a crib was made.

People who were invited began to come form 6 pm and they were ushered in by Fr. Biju Mathew, Fr. Vince, Fr. Babychan and the brothers. The cultural programmes began around 6.45 pm. The guests were welcomed by Fr. William Eronimose. The programmes were compeered by Mrs, Ivy Thomas. There were a host of guests, including Rakhi Ponnapa, a south Indian actress and Cicily, a famous south Indian play back singer. Fr. Baby Ellickal delivered the keynote address and presented best volunteer awards to Mrs. Lorane, Mrs. Mamtha and Mrs. Juliet and The International School Bangalore (TISB) received the best institutional supporter award. Occasionally, Ms. Cicily, also mesmerized the gathering with her mellifluous rendering.

A video presentation was created to make the gathering understand about the various activities of SCT and the impact of these activities and it was shown towards the end of the programme. The weather was very pleasant though there was a slight dew fall. A hearth was set around to warm the people. The children of Sneha Care home and Snehagram put up cultural programmes for one hour, including two ballet performances choreographed by Ms. Yana and team from Louis Foundation of Classical Ballet.

The cultural programme was followed by sumptuous dinner. The guests enjoyed all the dishes and it was a time for the people to meet and interact with their friends and share the good tidings of Christmas.

About 450 people from outside attended the programme besides our children and staff. All the guests left around 9.30 pm. The volunteers distributed Sneha Care Home Calendar and a memento to all the guests as they went home after the programme.
